The former Enfield Masonic Lodge & Theater located at 137 SE Railroad Street in the downtown of Enfield is being renovated for use as a multi-use, nonprofit, community arts center. Development includes improvement and/or replacement of the building's electrical, plumbing, heating and air conditioning systems in addition to a new roof, new seating and extensive repairs. This work will make possible the resumption of public use and enjoyment of the facility. The newly renovated Lodge at Roanoke Valley Arts Center will be a home for visual and performing arts. A community art gallery will offer exhibitions, classes and motion picture presentations to the public. Meeting space for community and neighborhood groups will also be available. This venue is being created with the intent of providing broader accessibility to the arts. We envision the Lodge Arts Center as a place which will enable our citizens of all ages, ethnic groups, genders, orientation, and economic status to gather, experience and build the unifying bonds of civilization and community that active participation in the arts can and will provide.
